I just watched Kalen's first DVD, and if you haven't had the opportunity to take her full course, watching this DVD, and future DVDs, is just like being there.

Thanks, Will. There was one glitch on DVD 1 wherein after taking a pizza break, I forgot to ensure the boom mic was connected. Otherwise, in DVD 1 we were using Camtasia for the screen capture of the demos and in post production I was having a NIGHTMARE of a problem using Adobe's new audio editing tool (Soundbooth) trying to get one channel into two. Soundbooth is NOT a tool designed for audio people (like Wavelab is for example) and I found it VERY hard to use for anything but just the basics.
(N.B. - I've since figured this out in Premiere and all subsequent DVDs will have audio in both channels). We're now using our main audio source for all content, but syncing audio to video without timecoding is a timeconsuming and laborious process (believe me, I know) so anytime you can get audio and video on a single source it's tempting to utilize. Once I get $6,000 I'll get us a Z1U and we'll have timecoding. Paying my rent comes first, though.

Launching SQLServerDVD.com is not always a lot of fun. A typical day has me respond to 3-4 emails. Processing 2-7 DVDs for shipping. Travelling to NYC to place DVDs in the mail (my local Jersey City USPS is incompetent and destroys DVDs and won't deliver internationally. Our tax dollars at work...). Coding the website. Expanding breakroom.SQLServerDVD.com. Providing pricing, coupons, etc. for our Experts. Etc., etc., etc... I also find try time to eat, do laundry, and maybe have a life.
:-)
I think SQLServerDVD.com is a good idea and I think we'll get bigger sooner rather than later. The products will get increasingly better and I do sincerely appreciate your candor. I envision lots more cool stuff to come.
